What Makes Water Birth Special?
Laboring in warm water relaxes the muscles, eases pain perception, and gives the mother freedom of movement — many women describe it as a calmer, more empowered birth experience. Our water births take place in full hospital conditions, in private birthing pools, with continuous monitoring of mother and baby.
Is Water Birth Safe?
With proper candidate selection and an experienced team, water birth is a safe option for low-risk pregnancies. The baby does not take a breath underwater — the diving reflex prevents this — and is gently brought to the surface immediately after birth. Throughout labor, both mother and baby are closely monitored, and the plan is adjusted instantly if anything changes.
Who Is a Good Candidate?
High-risk pregnancies, multiples and certain infections are not suitable — safety always comes first.
How We Prepare You
Our childbirth preparation program, led with midwife support, covers breathing techniques, labor physiology and what to expect in the pool. International families receive an online consultation first; we then plan the final weeks of pregnancy follow-up and the birth itself in Istanbul. Your birth plan — including who accompanies you and how the room is arranged — is prepared together, in English.
